South East Sulawesi is the most remote province in Sulawesi. The provincial capital is Kendari.
Not much is currently known about several of the peaks here but Mekongga is sometimes climbed by local hikers in a multi-day expedition, and Sabampolulu is supposedly an easy hike (but requires a long time to reach the base of).
