Central Kalimantan is one of four Indonesian provinces in the island of Borneo. The provincial capital is Parangkaraya. The mountainous area is close to the border with neighbouring West Kalimantan.

Not much is known about the mountains in the province, but Bukit Raya is the highest peak in Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo) and involves a 10 day expedition which can be done with the help of national park staff.
