It turns out that Kandela and Katopasa are different mountains. Katopasa is just a little bit lower (but much more often climbed and slightly more accessible from the northern coast). Anyway, Katopasa now has its own page at http://www.gunungbagging.com/katopasa

Some info on this peak from an avid hiker in Palu…

kandela name? we never heard the name. good of the community around the mountain katopasa or other news which called if the mountain was named kandela katopasa …. and frankly the name of the new kandela now I hear !!!!! but there is a small town in the southern part called Kolonedale. only that which is similar to that located around the mountain kandela katopasa.

and during my active on campus (1996-2003) I only had time to open the path and climb the mountain in several Central Sulawesi, among others, Mt. sidole, bulunti (district biromaru torch), Nokilalaki (Lore Lindu National Park), Gawalise (near hammer), katopasa (Kab. Tojo Una-Una), tokala (Morowali nature reserve), Tompotika (Luwuk district) and there are still some again …!!!!

It used to be my share,,,,

    Green regards
