The capital of South Kalimantan (Kalimantan Selatan) is Banjarmasin, which has an airport serving many flights from Jakarta and elsewhere in the archipelago.

Besar – Halau-halau is the highest point of the Meratus Mountains and is frequently climbed from Loksado. Kahung, however, is more remote and requires a longer expedition of three days or so. Sebatung is the highest point of Pulau Laut, but there may not be a trail to the true summit.
