Gunung Ranai

Gunung Ranai is the highest peak of Natuna Besar island, a remote island in the South China Sea between Borneo and the mainland Malaysian peninsula. Ranai is simultaneously the most isolated Ribu on the list, but also the Ribu closest to an airport. Given its isolation, it is not surprising that there is some fascinating flora and fauna to be spotted on Natuna Besar. Lucky hikers will spot bright red terrestrial crabs, numerous pitcher plants and maybe even the very rare and endangered primate known locally as the Kekah.
