Bagging It!
This mountain is the highest peak in the Gunung Mulu National Park. The Park is best accessed by plane or by boat. There are daily flights from the coastal city of Miri. Alternatively take the 10-hour boat trip!
The first person to reach the summit was a rhino hunter named Tama Nilong who ‘discovered’ the south-west ridge in the 1920s. The usual trek with National Park guides takes 4 days but experienced hikers will be able to complete it in less time. There are wooden huts along the trail which provide shelter for overnight stops.
