The Riau Islands (Kepulauan Riau) lie between Sumatra, Borneo and mainland Asia. Gunung Daik is a fantastic peak with rocky spires, the highest of which is so difficult to climb that nobody has done so yet. Jantan is a straightforward, short hike offering views to Singapore and mainland Malaysia. Ranai is the most isolated Ribu (furthest away from the next nearest Ribu) but also the Ribu closest to an airport.
