Since launching in 2009, the Gunung Bagging project has been fortunate enough to receive financial support in the form of donations from numerous philanthropists and funding organisations who recognize the considerable value in what we do. This is in addition to user subscriptions which do not currently cover all of our project costs by a long shot. Regardless of the size of donation, by supporting us you are supporting a project that has a wide impact on sustainability and responsible ecotourism in Southeast Asia.

We typically spend thousands of hours per year maintaining, updating and developing the site – whether that be in the form of necessary but tedious data entry tasks, commisioning new trail maps by a local Indonesian mapmaker, or the uploading of brand new trip reports and GPS data for mountains that were previously obscure.
