Bagging It!
The summit of Đỉnh Vua within the Ba Vì massif is easily accessible via paved paths and staircases and hosts a monument and shrine. It’s less than 30 minutes from the car park up over 1000 steps to the summit. The main path appears to go as far as Thuong Temple at around 1,100m and less than a kilometre north of the summit. And from the temple, a trail up to the summit exists and likely takes less than ten minutes to ascend. Uncle Ho Temple is at the top.
Practicalities
-
- Getting there: Situated within Ba Vì National Park, about 40–60 km west of Hanoi in Hà Nội and Hòa Bình provinces. Access is via well-maintained roads from Sơn Tây town into the park; from the entrance, paved stairs lead to Đỉnh Vua, including the tower and shrine complex.
-
- Permits: Entry into Ba Vì National Park requires the standard park admission fee.
-
- Water sources: As these are developed trails within a national park, amenities, vendors and restroom facilities are available at trailheads and upper temple areas.
