Mount Manunggal is located in Barangay Magsaysay in Balamban, Cebu province. The mountain is well known historically as the site where the presidential plane Mount Pinatubo crashed, killing President Ramon Magsaysay and 24 others in March 1957. The terrain varies from upland farms—growing onions, tomatoes, garlic, and other crops—to forested sections, though some trails lack dense canopy. At the campsite near the summit, there is a memorial monument to President Magsaysay and remnants of the crashed plane’s engine, along with a chapel built nearby. Mount Manunggal lies within the Central Cebu Protected Landscape, highlighting its ecological and historical significance.
