Bagging It!

Part of Ramkhamhaeng National Park, there is a trail up from the east near Hin Rang waterfall (200m). There are a couple of viewpoints on the steep trail and a camping area at around 1,100m. The summit is around 1km north-west of there and the view looks impressive.

Practicalities

    • Getting there: The nearest city is Phitsanulok.
    • Permits: Required but fees unknown. The Park is likely to be closed during the rainy season.
    • Water sources: Unknown at present.

Origins and Meaning

In Thai, “Khao Luang” (เขาหลวง) literally translates to “Royal Mountain” or “Great Mountain.” There are several other Thai mountains with the same name.
