Bagging It!
Known to some locally as Thangmual, there is a road almost to the summit so only 2-3 hours needed to explore the area with the help of a 4WD or decent motorbike. There’s a golden stupa and a communications tower up there and the area is popular with cyclists and bikers. The mountain was the site of a battle between the British Indian Army and the Japanese forces during WWII. Unfortunately for would-be hikers, it was also the site of a civil war battle in 2023 so access may remain difficult or even impossible.
