Origins and Meaning
Ngọc Linh is Sino-Vietnamese, literally “Jade Spirit”. From local Co Tu or Jeh–Tariang languages, the mountain is known as Ngơl k’iàng or Ngơk kariàng, meaning “the great mountain”, a term reflecting its stature as the roof of central Vietnam.
