Mount Puting Bato is a mountain located on Samal Island in the Davao Region. Public access is only possible at weekends.
The hill is known for its white limestone walls, which is the origin of its name—Puting Bato means “white rock.” The peak is visible from several parts of Davao City and offers views of surrounding beaches and distant mountains, including Mount Apo. The trails are considered suitable for beginner to moderate hikers, with two main routes: the easier Guilon trail and the steeper Tayapoc trail. Numerous tracks criss-cross the hillside.
There is a viewpoint at the top and a circular stone platform.
Practicalities

- Getting there: Access to the mountain generally involves traveling to Samal Island via ferry from Davao City, which is a short distance, then reaching the jump-off points at Barangay Guilon or Barangay Tagbitinaw. Guides are not mandatory but available for hire. Registration fees are nominal, and overnight hikes are possible.
